Who does what, now and when Vicinity goes live.

Leadership is earned over time and chosen by locals, not bought in a minute. Holdings count, but only up to 2× the founder amount, so the biggest wallet can't simply take over. Read every rule →

Holder

Holds any $VICINITY · vote ×1

Now

  • Verify your wallet and set your home community.
  • Post memes, check-ins and discussions in your city and country.
  • Report spam and scams: 5 reports hide a post until a moderator reviews it.

When Vicinity goes live

  • Only holders can post and vote.
  • Endorse who should found your city, and elect your Country Manager: one person, one vote.
  • Founding Supporters are the holders by 14-day average balance at the snapshot: early access to city coins.

City Founder

Chosen by the city · vote ×2

Now

  • Set your home community (it must be set 7 days before you apply).
  • Bring your locals in: they'll endorse the founder.
  • Plan to hold the founder amount for 14 days straight after launch: balances are checked at random times.

When Vicinity goes live

  • Apply from inside the city; a 72-hour window lets others apply too. No race.
  • Chosen by the published formula: 50% local endorsements, 30% contribution, 20% holdings (capped at 2×). Then 48 hours for objections.
  • Moderate the city's feed (hides need a second person). Drop below the amount and moderation pauses; 7 days to fix it or the seat reopens.
  • At the Launchpad: first right to launch the city's one official coin.

Country Manager

Elected for 90 days · vote ×3

Now

  • The seat opens once the country has founders with 30+ days of service. Until then the Admin covers it.

When Vicinity goes live

  • Elected by the country's verified locals: 50% votes, 30% service, 20% holdings (capped). 90-day terms, at most two in a row.
  • Hide posts in the country, propose bans (another person must approve), advise on "add my town" requests.
  • Powers pause the moment their founder seat is in grace.

Admin

The Vicinity team · team wallets are public

Now

  • Decides "add my town" requests, objections to founders and appeals they weren't part of.
  • Moderates everywhere, under the same two-person rules.
  • Publishes team wallets, the snapshot time and every rule change first.

When Vicinity goes live

  • Publishes the only official contract address.
  • Can never move anyone's tokens, mint, change a launched city's coin, or change rules silently.
